Objectives and priorities
The main objective was the creation of a reference manual concerning the 3D digitization of moveable and stationary objects of cultural importance, an aid for those involved in the application of such technologies for the preservation of cultural heritage.
Problems encountered and lessons learnt
The process of composing the written manual was accompanied by case-study projects involving the digitization of small objects and architectural spaces. It became apparent that thorough planning and the simultaneous work of a group of specialists is the key for an efficient and less time consuming digitization process.
